Cyber Security in Manufacturing Summit Seeks Speakers
[JULY 8, LONDON] Qatalyst Global are now accepting speaker applications for the ManuSec Summit, returning to Chicago this October 11-12, taking a deep dive into cyber security within manufacturing. We’re looking for exciting, dynamic speakers with a story to tell, who will engage our audience of high-level security leaders from a cross-section of American manufacturers.
This innovative Summit comes at a critical juncture for American manufacturers, who are suffering heavy losses from cyber attacks at unprecedented levels. A 2016 report, Cyber Risk in Advanced Manufacturing, co-authored by MAPI and Deloitte, indicated that 39% of survey respondents had experienced a cyber breach in the last 12 months, 40% of whom had suffered losses of between $1-10m+. 1 in 3 respondents to a separate 2017 survey revealed that they had never conducted a cyber risk assessment on any of the connected devices on their factory floors.
Event Director, Kudsia Kaker, commented: “American manufacturing is in crisis. Whether it be theft of intellectual property, WannaCry-style ransomware or phishing emails, attacks have never been more frequent or damaging. Big players in the industry are sharpening the tools in their arsenal to protect themselves against cybercrime, but what’s crucial is that these measures aren’t seen as exclusive to the likes of Fortune 500 companies, but relevant to manufacturers of any size. We work with some of the most innovative vendors in the market place to make sure that ManuSec provides a unique platform to get in better digital shape with your peers to fight these threats.”
The Qatalyst team are currently accepting speaker submissions around the following topic areas, although original ideas are welcome and encouraged:
- Implications of GDPR and the NIST Framework
- IT/OT Convergence
- How to secure the IoT
- Managing supply chain vulnerabilities
- Insider Threats
- Optimizing operations through digital innovation
- Approaches to SCADA/ICS cyber security
- Cyber security as a board-level issue
- Developing an effective training scheme
